//// What Are We?

The Mystic Pet Shop is a group dedicated to the creation and sharing of unique and original creature species. If you want to adopt or create with us, please take a few minutes to read through this stuff! We know, it's a lot, but it's important.


//// Information on the Creatures

Browse through our current creatures, and figure out what kind you're interested in. You'll notice that the creatures are sorted into one of two categories - "premade" and "free".

Premade creatures are adopted exactly as they are shown. Their physical features stay true to the original design.

Free creatures, on the other hand, are meant for you to "play with", and come up with your own design, so long as it doesn't stray too far from the base.


//// How Do You Adopt?

Once you have chosen your creature, leave a message on that creature's Deviation. If you adopted a premade specie, tell us which creature specifically it was you chose. We operate on a first come, first serve basis for adopting. We will let you know once/if you're assigned to that creature. If it was a free specie, however, you can simply leave a message on the Deviation once you're done.

Then, draw your creature! It does not have to be an amazing and involved piece - all you really need is a simple, colored, and fairly accurate picture of your creature. You are totally welcome to add accessories and clothing onto your creature, but make sure it's phyiscal traits stay true to the original design! Please try to complete your creature within 10 days. If you cannot for some reason, let us know - if you are truly dedicated to that creature, and have a good reason for not finishing, then we may give you a time extension. If not, then the creature goes back up for adoption!

Once you've completed and submitted the image of your adopted creature to your DeviantART account, then the adoption is complete.

If someone claims the creature you want, before you can get to it, you will be able to instantly claim any other unclaimed creature of that type.

//// How Many Creatures Can You Adopt?

Every member can have up to -five- creatures at a time. Unless you have a really good reason - and 'I want to get a different one' isn't good - you may not 'un-adopt' a creature.


//// How Can You Join?

If you simply +Watch this group, we'll add you to the list of members.


//// How can you Become a Creator?

+Watch us first, which will make you a member. Then, please PM us, saying that you'd like to be one! It would be great if you already had a creature ready to go when you apply, but that's not a requirement. Just don't ask to be a creator, and then never submit any critters.

//// How can a Creator Submit a Creature?
You're welcome to upload your creature design to your DeviantART account, but in order for us to upload it here, you need to upload it onto Photobucket or something similar and send us the link via PM or email, as it is against the DeviantART terms of service to save images from others galleries.

Submitting a creature requires that you either define it as "premade'"or "free".
If it is a premade creature, provide no less than five different variations/color schemes of it to us; also, tell us how many of each kind the Shop will start out with.
If it is free, then simply give a reference sheet showing it's basic traits and appearance. Point out particular traits, and mention what they can and can't look like.
